Tarantuguns

Tarantuguns are autonomous weapons platforms developed by the Martian Empire. As the name implies, they resemble mechanical spiders, and are capable of communicating in a variety of human languages. They are also able to operate in a variety of environments, proving equally deadly at the bottom of the ocean or in the skies.

SEMME agents first ran afoul of Tarantuguns when they attempted to secure the Martian Embassy, where several of these weapons had been stationed as perimeter security. Anthony McHenry described them as "customs agents".

Head Alien later took control of the remaining Tarantuguns and deployed them as air cover during his second attack on SEMME HQ.

Trivia

• Tarantuguns also appear as enemies in the computer game Ultra Car: Obsticon Onslaught.
• In Dumbing of Age, Sal Walkerton has one of these tattooed on her right arm.
